TIN Registration in Nigeria 2026 - Who Needs It and How Long It Takes

Almost every Nigerian formal transaction in 2026 now asks for a TIN - corporate bank accounts, government tenders, NEPC, import/export, even some POS upgrades.
Companies & Business Names
When you register at CAC, a TIN is now auto-issued and printed on your certificate. You no longer queue at FIRS for it. If it's missing, AMG can pull it via the JTB portal within a few working days.
Individuals
Individual TIN is generated from your NIN at the JTB portal - usually free. You'll need it for personal tax filing, large bank transactions and some visa applications.
